Practice- 2 Minutes with Sound

You may want to use a timer for this brief attending practice.

Take a break from whatever you are doing right now and just sit. You don’t need to sit in any particular way. Gently focus on your physical sense of “sound”. Close your eyes and just listen for any audible sounds that you can presently hear in your background. If you can, try to focus gently and with ease on a particular sound for as long as you can during this two-minute period. If you get distracted by thoughts or other physical senses, simply bring your attention back to the object of focus…
