Healing Energy- The “Power” Within
by meditative - June 14th, 2010.Filed under: Insights for Mindful Intelligence.
Every human being holds the power to heal their suffering…
In our practice, the healing meditation can be very effective when drawing upon some source of “power” for the practitioner- like a blessing, image, vision, or energy as an aid in transforming one’s suffering- sacred or otherwise. The source of power could also be any positive form, nature, essence, or force- any aspect of energy that one finds inspiring and healing- an embodiment of healing energies that are true to you- the practitioner. A genuine relationship and connection to the healing energies is as fundamental as the “power source” itself- comforting and expansive feelings toward the healing power of one’s mind. To be effective, we need to be able to consistently visualize, experience, and trust this connection. When we connect with the source of power we should feel and embrace the peace and energy it gives us. With the right attitude, any object can become tremendously powerful.
Ultimately, what we choose as the form or image of the source of power isn’t all that important as it is really our own inner wisdom & strength that we are contacting. What matters most is our confidence and openness to this wisdom- and the gentle relaxation to the small mindedness & rigidness of attitude that fosters our suffering. Healing cannot manifest without a positive mind. Strength and fitness of mind is intimately connected with our orientation and outlook on life especially in times of difficulty and distress. It is through a positive outlook in which we galvanize our inner resources.
In our healing meditations, we return to this source of power or energy again and again- feeling, resting and basking in it- the warmth, the peace, and the strength of our own inner wisdom. To make healing truly effective, we need to invoke our power of imagination, our understanding, our feelings, and our power of belief (i.e. faith) in the healing process. In other words, we need to become “one” with the energy or power itself. There is no separation of “I”- and no sense of duality from the healing source.
In many practices, the visualization of “light” emanating from one’s power source offers tremendous healing & purifying potential with its openness, warmth, and transformative qualities. To be touched by “light” or the rays of light illuminates and opens our willingness to cradle what we may habitually fear or try to avoid. The warmth the “light” often radiates and helps to bring us peace where there may have been distress. It’s penetrative and magnetic nature helps to infiltrate, attract, and clear our rigidly fixated preoccupations of mind and body especially in times of distress and dis-ease. Visualizations of light are the most popular means of healing both emotional blocks and physical complaints. With strength of mind positively oriented and devotionally centered, the power of light offers tremendous healing capacity.
Trust, openness, and devotion to the healing power and its source are fundamental to the transformation process.
