Minding the Gap
by meditative - September 16th, 2011.Filed under: Insights for Mindful Intelligence.
Minding the gap might be whenever we find ourselves in moments of waiting- for example, stalled in a checkout line; stopped at a traffic light; or halted by a download to our desktop, etc. These moments in waiting represent “gaps” of time to simply be present. Instead of being impatient and wishing things would go faster, we can be grateful for the gift of a respite—whether it be seconds or minutes during which we have no nowhere else to be, to go, or nothing else to do. Take the opportunity to mindfully breathe in, breathe out, and savor the moment. Mind this gap between where you were and where you have to be, because where you are is freedom to just be.
