What Is This?

Are we aware of the karmic impact of our thought patterns?
We sit. We just sit. We see our minds and the activities of mind simply as phenomenon in the field of our awareness both clearly and non-discriminately. Whether our focus is a thought, feeling, sensation, etc., each and every thing is seen as conditioned and constantly changing. With mindful awareness, we sit openly and curiously with a balance of focus and inquiry. As we sit with inquisitive concentration, we are stable, still, and spacious. Curious with inquiry, we are alert, vivid, fresh, and clear.
With the fullness of being and with deep, heart-felt intention, we inquire… what is this?.. and repeat… what is this? The question opens our minds to deep inquiry- focuses our attention and holds the power to dissolve our distraction when wandering adrift within the spaciousness of our awareness. We ask the question with the whole of our being- deeply and compassionately as we sink into our intention to explore and examine the mystery of our humanity. We ask not with the aspiration for an immediate answer or resolution, but because we truly don’t know.
