Take a look at Matt Cutt’s “TED talk” on the benefits of trying something new for thirty days. This relatively short video is worth the watch. Embracing new challenges that we ordinarily wouldn’t allows us to step out of our comfort zone, and to develop new habits, hobbies, and possibly lifestyle changes. As Matt discovered, trying new things can make our days more memorable and increase our self confidence.
This same idea applies to GOOD’s 30-Day-Challenge where each month, their team proposes a challenge to focus on improving ourselves and the larger community around us. In an effort to help participants to all rise to the occasion, they assign one small task every day. Each morning, they post the challenge on GOOD.is and Twitter, along with a testimonial from someone on the GOOD team who’s already completed it.
