‘ A Still & Quiet Way’

Our mind is analogous to a vessel of cloudy water constantly agitated by the moving sediment of thought and feeling. The longer we are able to keep the vessel of cloudy water still, the more the sediment settles down and the water will be seen clearly. Through the continuity and consistency of our mindfulness practice, there arises this abiding awareness that becomes more focused with concentration, clarity, and calmness. What we may develop while sitting on the cushion soon permeates into a skillful awareness of our everyday doing and being. It is this everyday mindfulness that can bring us greater joy, contentment, and fulfillment as our attitude is tempered by the freedom of choosing a different ‘WAY’….
