‘Relaxation’

Relaxation in our practice manifests from a routine of resting in the space of awareness- in noticing & relinquishing physical & mental tension- in gathering, quieting, and conserving our scattered energies through a deeper, clearer, kinder, and more focused relationship with mind & body.
With this relaxed awareness, we can remain alert and responsive to the activities of mind & body without becoming entangled in their content. As we continue to ‘sit’ or ‘observe’ in this way, we are less likely to be carried away by habitual thoughts, feelings, and sensations. As a result we may discover more energy & ‘space’ to cope and respond to situations- particularly the unexpected ones– with greater ease and objectivity.
