Here We Sit in Stillness…

We exercise effort to practice. We practice in effortlessness.
Each day we remember to sit. In silence, there is calm and peace in mind and body. With “bare awareness” and open, nonjudgmental observation revelation fills the “empty space” of awareness left by calming and stabilizing the mind. We attend in our silence to whatever may unfold as it is. With insight there arises understanding. We become aware of the conditions for our human predicament- both in states of happiness and suffering simply through our presence- our awareness- and our concentration.
In stillness, there are infinite possibilities to experience the full spectrum of our human potential. It is the kind of silence that brings us greater self-regulation in our thoughts, emotions, and actions- and that heals and nourishes the soul. The energy and light of mindfulness becomes powerfully concentrated in our stillness to penetrate our deepest concerns. In the here and now, there manifests insight and understanding into the very nature of our human condition. To see clearly into the nature of our own being is truly a gift of patience and effortlessness in sitting. Meditate onto yourself and the essence of your being will reveal itself with time and practice.
Again and again, we remember to sit and to attend because there is great meaning held in the truth of our practice. The more we sit, the more refined, precise, and powerful our awareness, attention, and concentration can become. Freedom from our suffering and the awakening to our happiness may be simply a breath away…
