Give Thanks

A day of Thanksgiving… a day for us to take pause… to be surrounded by the ones we love… to give thanks… and for simply being thankful for all the blessings bestowed upon us in our lives.
On this day, we can feel good about stopping to truly appreciate all that is given in our lives- and for all those who have given to our lives. We are less about ourselves- our problems and our inadequacies- and more about the selfless reflection of togetherness and being an integral part of something larger than our own personal narratives. Immersed in gratitude there is little room for our afflictions. We are happy to be alive- to love and to be loved- to appreciate and to be appreciated. In the company of our thankfulness, we are gracious and serving to this gift of life.
We give thanks because gratitude fills our hearts, and our thoughts of mind simply resonate with what we presently feel. What we may feel and express deeply are the positive effects of being a grateful person. To give thanks is to give of oneself… to this moment… to this day… and to all the moments that make our ordinary lives so very special.
