Clear Sanity III

Clear sanity is our inherited instinct for fulfillment- our universal human potential…
Clear sanity is not a continuous stream of conscious-mindful awareness. It simply arises from an unconditional presence of open awareness. It is a natural and spontaneous state of potentiality- special moments where “glimpses” or “flashes” of enlightenment illuminate our Way, and help us to discriminate our relations with the phenomenology or own minds.
In our meditation practice, we sit with the fundamental questions of human suffering and happiness. We contemplate and reflect their presence in the light of our natural goodness and warmth. We explore. We inquire. We examine the pain of our uncertainty, change, and impermanence. We invite what we fear with gentleness, kindness, and hospitality. There is no sanity if we cannot awaken from our stupor and genuinely see what is at stake. It is through our faith and our devotion- a deep appreciation to inquisitiveness and curiosity that we begin to satisfy and fulfill deeper, more intrinsic needs. The wakeful sentience of clear sanity illuminates our sense of what is right” for the moment based upon our inherent “goodness”- our natural capacity to be beyond a “selfish”, ego-driven center.
We see for others as we see for ourselves- clearly, precisely, and sharply. A daily practice of mindfulness-awareness brings us these glimpses of wisdom and of clarity to see beyond the chaos and confusion that only veils our good sense and sensibility. With wisdom-based awareness, we penetrate our material preoccupation- our ignorance and confusion to reside in a consciousness without attachment or aversion. Openly and freely we allow ourselves to reclaim the mystery of our existence- the peace and harmony with all that we are interconnected. The dignity of living with genuine warmth and compassion for self and for others.
The positive focus of our practice brings us the enduring stability to face our daily obstacles and challenges. It is through this deeply seeded orientation of faith and devotion that we place a strong measure of trust in our own natural intelligence– our innate and discriminating capacity to discern what supports our well-being and what does not.
During difficult and challenging times, we often fail to recognize our wisdom potential because we tend to narrowly focus on our pain… The “light” is present and inherent to our longing and to our natural intelligence to transcend our pain. As we learn to trust this longing, our natural movement is toward the light of presence, which ultimately brings us clarity, strength, and confidence.
As we grow to aspire for a deeper connection with our natural intelligence– our ordinary and primal minds- we seem to effortlessly search for continued positivity in our lives. With the open intelligence of clear sanity, we manifest a sense of ease and peace- attending to the many questions we have about the essence of our human suffering, and the perpetual elusiveness of sustained happiness. Through this state of being and state of mind, we come to the realization of where we are genuinely standing in our lives- what we are doing- how far we have come- and how far we want to go in realizing the nature of our own minds…
