Clear Sanity I

Confidence is a realistic sense of what is possible in the moment…
Cultivating our mindsight and resting in the spaciousness of our open awareness again and again helps to nourish a state of being- of heart and of mind that is liberated from the discursive narratives we cling to out of fear, ignorance, and/or confusion. At first, these are very awkward states as we have been disconnected from our own true nature. The veil of our conceptual narratives- the construct of self- have cloaked the essence of our inherent spaciousness, clarity, and compassion to be directly and fully present with our experiences.
A path of clear sanity leads us directly into moments of uncertainty, egolessness, and groundlessness- yet the vast and expansive openness of this Way continues to invite our intention and curiosity to explore the depths and mystery of our own being. With purposeful intention and wakeful attention, we not only examine the revealing seeds of our habitualness, but we begin to plant more helpful ones. We see how our thoughts lead to certain behaviors and feelings- and how not to be drawn into the concepts & constructs as well as the storylines or narratives that incarcerate and limit our inherent senses and sensibilities to be more spontaneous, fluid, and flexible to things as they unfold.
The courage to embrace our uncertainty- our not knowing moment to moment liberates us from our habitual tendencies to shroud and protect our egoic “self” from displaying its vulnerabilities to learn from what is not known. For those of us who do not take labels such as “stupid” very seriously, we find the spaciousness of our not knowing to be quite revealing with open awareness and a concerted, mindful presence of attention. Mindsight illuminated with mindful insight and intelligence is our lens of natural-based wisdom- focused attention to see, look, and examine our experiences of and with mind directly. Clear sanity is the open awareness which manifests from this wisdom-based presence.
Clear sanity is all about awakened wisdom- wakeful awareness- and wakeful sentience. It is our innate and liberated capacity to be creative, imaginative, and spontaneous moment to moment- and free from fixed views and assumptions about what we see and about what we should do in a given moment. With clear sanity, we are freely able to interrupt our habitual tendencies to grasp and cling to the false solidity of our ego-stories. Flashes of enlightenment illuminate our intuitive sense with discerning ordiscriminating awareness to what is real and to what is delusional. Not knowing and uncertainty are interconnected to our sentience of clarity as the emptiness or spaciousness of this mind state bring forth a vastness of possibilities moment to moment. We are no longer “stuck” to a rigidly predictable pattern that limits our own being from fulfilling happiness and from ameliorating our sense of reactive suffering in challengingly fearful times.
Transition from confusion to clarity can be a difficult path, but maintaining warmth and curiosity can ease one’s shift from being less reactive and more responsive. The space and openness we willingly give our confusion- our not knowing- our uncertainty- allows the room for clear insights to manifest where distractive and discursive self-narratives used to reside.
