Mindfully Me, ‘Shaping Your Brain’

Our brain is always changing with new experiences. By changing the way we pay attention- by shifting or focusing our attention- we are creating new experiences. With new experiences, our brain cells or neurons come to life and ‘fire’ with activation. This integrated activity of neural or brain cell ‘firing’ also leads to new neural ‘wiring’ or connections that help to physically reshape the architecture of how our whole brain ultimately works… and how we consequently respond & relate to our inner & outer worlds.
The ‘neuroplasticity’ (i.e. structural & functional capacity to change) of our brains also helps to explain how what we practice and how we focus attention can become a skill… as well as how states of mind & being can actually become character traits- whether they may be good or bad.
Regular awareness training can inevitably help create fundamental changes in the brain and the extended nervous system for long-term benefits simply by the way we direct & focus our attention.
