Awakening
Sunday, June 30th, 2013In my mind, there was a mountain of ‘mental formations’ cycling without end as I habitually continued to indulge them.
In my mind, there was a mountain of ‘mental formations’ cycling without end as I habitually continued to indulge them.
Maybe this ‘moment’ wasn’t your best performance, but if you were paying close attention, there already exists the ‘seed’ for a better effort to follow.
What does “dedicated time & space” mean to you?
Repetitive cycles of internalized thoughts & feelings become our ‘self-narrative’- whether healthy or not.
Self-regulation of thoughts & feelings is a function of how we attend to them- observance without indulgence.
We all need a sense of clear purpose in our lives- something deeply meaningful to ourselves- and something that also serves the greater good of others.
Lost in effort to relax our mind and body, we discover the essence of ‘effortless effort’.
We can normalize our suffering by remembering it is part of the shared ‘human condition’.
We practice to better serve ourselves, and so that we may take better care of others.
As we begin to soften and relax in our practice, there opens space around what is arising, and what we may come to know.
