‘Self-Care’

Whether we realize it or not, we can be our own best friend. The acts of kindness we provide ourselves can be nurturing forms of self-care… soothing, comforting, and reassuring. Genuine and sustainable happiness is derived from having a healthy and nurturing relationship with ourselves. It’s honoring & respecting ourselves.

The kindness we give to ourselves can help us to reduce our daily stress and anxiety. It can bring greater peace and ease into our lives. The more we practice it, the better we get at it.

Treat yourself as if you really mattered… like you would treat a close family member or a good friend. Watch how you talk to yourself, as well as the thoughts and/or feelings you have about yourself especially in challenging times. Do you tend to judge yourself or compare yourself to others? Can you simply accept your thoughts and feelings as they are? No matter how challenging our lives may become, we always have more right with us than wrong.

Take the time to simply be with yourself… to be quiet, still & aware of your mind & body no matter how they are. Pay attention… ‘listen’ & ‘feel’ what helps keep your body, heart & mind healthy- eat, play, exercise & learn to be mindfully well.

Take a moment and give yourself a hug. Feel the closeness and warmth of embracing yourself for who are… as you are.
