Emotions & Decision Making

These emotions we feel in this body are programmed deeply in our subconsciousness arising mainly from an evolutionary design in our primal brain. Like an internal guidance system, they serve mainly to protect and sustain us. The emotions we experience and feel in the body also often direct much of what we say and do- whether reactive or responsive.
Guiding our everyday decisions, it’s important for us to gain some self-awareness and self-regulation of these emotions. In our mindfulness practice, we can cultivate a genuine sensitivity and sensory clarity for how our emotions arise & manifest simply by observing our ‘feeling states’ in the body with concentration, openness, and curiosity.
