‘Bounce Back’

We may expand our ‘window of tolerance’ through awareness & compassion.
Resilience is our ability to ‘roll’ with life’s ups and downs. It’s our built-in capacity for ‘flexibility’- being able to shift attitude & perspective, discern options & possibilities, as well as make wiser choices. It’s balance and centeredness enabling us to ‘stay the course’ despite the circumstances we may face before us. ‘Falling down’, it’s our tenacity to get back up and start again, with openness and acceptance to learn and embrace what may not be perceived as a ‘set back’ rather an opportunity to potentially grow and develop.
Self-awareness and self-compassion help us to frame and see things more clearly- to self-regulate our impulses and self-doubt so that we may create more space and distance for skillful observation. It’s in this volitional ‘PAUSE’ that we may become more responsive & less reactive to the inevitable adversities in our lives.
