The moment is ‘NOW’.
Body Awareness- A Daily Reminder

Excerpt from “Here, Now, Aware”~ Joseph Goldstein
A simple reminder is to train ourselves to stay mindfully aware of our bodies throughout the day. Lost in the activities of our mind- planning, anticipating, and ruminating- we often forget our palpable connection to our bodies. Lost in thought, it is quite common for us to experience the incessant feeling of rushing. It is this feeling or sense of toppling forward. Our minds tend to get away from us- ahead of us- focusing on where we want to go instead of settling into our bodies where we are.
Rushing is not necessarily a quality of speed as we can feel rushed while moving slowly just as we can move quickly and still be settled in our own body. We can learn to pay attention to this feeling of rushing simply by noticing the thought and/or emotion stream driving our distracted attention. It is here that we pause just for a moment and settle back into our own body… “feel your foot on the ground, feel your next step”.
This practice may be easy to do, but it is difficult to remember…
